Alabama took over the No. 1 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, and was joined by Clemson, Miami and Oklahoma in the new top four announced Tuesday night.
Alabama is No. 1 for the first time this season after Georgia lost 40-17 to Auburn, with the Bulldogs falling to No. 7. Clemson climbed two spots to No. 2, ahead of Miami and Oklahoma, who are in the top four for the first time this season.
Wisconsin, the top-ranked Big Ten team and the top undefeated team from the Group of 5 conferences, is No. 5. Auburn rose to No. 6 two weeks ahead of its Iron Bowl showdown against Alabama.
Notre Dame fell to No. 8 after its 41-8 loss at Miami on Saturday, followed by Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Penn State to round out the top 10.
Southern Cal is the highest-ranked Pac-12 team at No. 11 – with every team in the conference having at least two losses. TCU came in at No. 12 after being routed by Oklahoma on Saturday, followed by Oklahoma State, Washington State and Central Florida. UCF is undefeated and the top-ranked team outside of the Group of 5.
Mississippi State narrowly missed upsetting Alabama at home on Saturday and is No. 16, followed by Michigan State, Washington and NC State.
LSU is No. 20, followed by Memphis, Stanford, Northwestern, Michigan and Boise State.
Virginia Tech, Iowa and Iowa State dropped out of the rankings this week.
