The Atlanta Braves released third baseman Adonis Garcia, who plans to play in South Korea in 2018.
Garcia, 32, was expected to enter spring training behind Johan Camargo and Rio Ruiz in the third base competition after hitting .237 with five home runs in 52 games last season. He missed about three months of 2017 while recovering from finger surgery.
Garcia hit .273 with 14 homers and 65 RBIs in 134 games in 2016.
The Braves have released INF Adonis García from their roster in connection with his desire to play in South Korea for the 2018 season.
