Giants WR Marshall to have season-ending surgery

New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall announced on his Instagram account that he was scheduled to undergo season-ending ankle surgery on Tuesday.

Marshall was one of three Giants receivers to suffer a season-ending injury in Sunday’s 27-22 loss to the San Diego Chargers. Odell Beckham Jr. underwent surgery on Monday for a fractured ankle, while Dwayne Harris broke his foot and was expected to have surgery Tuesday as well.

The Giants are also evaluating the extent of the ankle injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s game.

Thank u all for your prayers. You better believe I'll be back better than ever. God Speed

Marshall signed a two-year, $11 million deal with the Giants over the offseason after being released by the Jets. He finishes the 2017 season with 18 catches for 154 yards and no touchdowns in five games.

Marshall was injured while attempting to make a catch down the left sideline and landed awkwardly. The five-time Pro Bowl receiver also dealt with a shoulder injury over the offseason and struggled with key drops through the first month of the season.

The Giants (0-5) play at the Denver Broncos (3-1) on Sunday night.
