Get ready for some fireworks Tuesday in Los Angeles.
For the second time this season, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray managed to upset the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night in a 125-116 Nuggets win in Denver.
Lakers coach Luke Walton was seen yelling toward the Nuggets bench after the game ended.
Walton said he was angry at Murray for “disrespectful” trash talk in the closing moments of the game.
“I felt like for the second time we played here, Murray was being a little disrespectful at the end of the game. (It was) just some trash-talking toward our guys,” Walton said.
Murray and Isaiah Thomas exchanged words late in the game, with Thomas following Murray to the Denver bench during a time-out in the final minute.
In a Dec. 2 game between the teams, Murray drew the Lakers’ ire for some showboat dribbling around Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball as the Nuggets were running out the final seconds of the game.
Ball said he didn’t know what Murray did Friday night — and didn’t seem to care, though he did say the earlier incident was a “punk move.”
“I don’t know, I don’t really worry about Jamal Murray,” Ball said “Like I said, ain’t nobody worried about him.”
We’ll see if that holds true Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
