The Minnesota Lynx re-signed four-time All-Star forward Rebekkah Brunson on Thursday, the team announced.
Brunson, 36, is entering her 15th WNBA season and ninth with the Lynx. She has been on a record five championship teams, four with Minnesota and one with Sacramento.
"We are happy that Rebekkah Brunson, one of the cornerstones of our franchise and the only player in league history with five WNBA Championships, will remain a Lynx," Minnesota general manager and head coach Cheryl Reeve said in a statement. "From the moment she arrived in Minnesota, Rebekkah has been a vital part of our franchise both on and off the court. She's a tireless worker and passionate leader and we are thrilled that she's decided to continue her career with the Lynx."
Brunson was an All-Star last season when she averaged 10.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists. She is Minnesota's all-time leader with 1,989 rebounds and ranks second in blocked shots (161) and fourth in steals (247).
