Tiger Woods didn't win the Valspar Championship on Sunday, but he sure made NBC and the PGA Tour winners.

Despite having not won on Tour in nearly five years, Woods again showed he is the most popular golfer on the planet, as the Tour received its highest TV ratings in ... yup, five years.

Woods began the day one shot off the lead at the Innisbrook Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla., and teed off in the penultimate pairing.

He remained in contention throughout the day, ultimately falling one stroke short of winner Paul Casey. Casey teed off more than an hour before Woods's pairing, and the final pairing of Justin Rose and Corey Conners, along with Woods' partner Brandt Snedeker, all finished multiple strokes off the pace.

That meant Woods was the leading contender still on the course for the final hour, helping to drive the ratings while the clock ticked toward the day's other big TV draw, the NCAA Tournament selection show.

According to The Associated Press, the NBC Sports Group said the overnight rating Sunday was 5.11, a 190-percent improvement from Sunday at the Valspar in 2017 and the highest number for any PGA Tour round since The Players Championship in 2013.

The winner of that tournament?

Tiger Woods.
