The Minnesota Lynx have signed free-agent guard Tanisha Wright, the team announced Tuesday.

Terms of Wright's contract were not disclosed per team policy.

Wright, 34, is a 12-year WNBA veteran who last played with the New York Liberty in 2016. She spent last season as an assistant women's hoops coach at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

"We are very excited to welcome Tanisha back to the WNBA and specifically to the Minnesota Lynx," Lynx coach and general manager Cheryl Reeve said in a statement.

"Tanisha has proven herself to be a formidable opponent throughout her career. She's tough, experienced and as competitive as anyone I've coached against. She's the kind of player who always makes the game difficult for her opponent, so it goes without saying that we're really looking forward to having her on our side."

Over 12 seasons with the Liberty and Seattle Storm, Wright averaged 7.7 points, 3.1 assists, 2.7 rebounds and a steal in 393 career games. Wright was a WNBA champion in 2010 with Seattle, where she spent her first 10 professional seasons.

Wright averaged a career-high 12.2 points in 2009 with the Storm. In her most recent season in the league, Wright posted averages of 6.7 points, 3.6 assists and 2.3 boards in 29 games with New York.

The Lynx also acquired three-time WNBA All-Star point guard Danielle Robinson and a 2019 second-round draft pick in a trade with the Phoenix Mercury earlier in March.
