South Carolina forward A'ja Wilson added another prominent honor on Saturday when she was named the NCAA's Naismith Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Louisville's Asia Durr and Connecticut's Katie Lou Samuelson and Gabby Williams were the other finalists.

Wilson has already won the AP's player of the year award and was a unanimous AP All-American, becoming just the seventh player in NCAA history to earn that distinction three times.

She averaged 22.6 points (seventh in the nation), 11.2 rebounds (third in the SEC) and 3.2 blocks (tops in the SEC) as a senior, claiming a record third SEC player of the year honor.

Wilson also cracked the 2,000-point and 1,000-rebound thresholds this season, though her Gamecocks were eliminated in the Elite Eight of the women's NCAA Tournament by UConn.
