The New York Mets activated outfielder Michael Conforto from the 7-day concussion list prior to Sunday’s game against the Detroit Tigers. Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports Conforto was in the starting lineup, batting third and playing right field. Conforto, 26, suffered the concussion during a game against the Washington Nationals on May 16. He is batting .271 with nine homers and 21 RBIs in 42 games this season. The Mets designated outfielder Rajai Davis for assignment to open up a roster spot. The 38-year-old Davis is 2-for-7 with a homer and three RBIs in four games since recently joining the team. New York manager Mickey Callaway said the organization hopes to retain Davis. The club opted to take a longer look at recently acquired outfielder Aaron Altherr, leading to the decision to DFA Davis. –Field Level Media (@FieldLevelMedia)
