Toronto Raptors guard Norman Powell has agreed to a four-year, $42 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.
The extension will go into effect for the 2018-19 season, and reportedly includes a player option on the fourth year.
The 46th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, the 24-year-old Powell could have become a restricted free agent in July. He averaged 8.4 points per game last season and has averaged 7.3 points per game through two NBA seasons. Powell also averaged 11.7 points while hitting 44 percent of his 3-point attempts in nine playoff games last season.
Powell was eligible for the higher figure between 120 percent of his $1.4 million annual salary, or 120 percent of the average projected NBA salary this season.
