Police arrested a 17-year-old girl in connection with a burglary reported at Nebraska coach Scott Frost’s home last month in Lincoln.
The juvenile was being kept at the city detention center after a search turned up a pair of Air Jordan shoes Frost reported missing in June along with myriad personal items. Some of the items Frost later reported recovered in a search of his own garage, including 14 championship rings (10 from Oregon, two from Nebraska and two from Central Florida).
Frost reported a burglary from his home, which was vacant for nearly four months because of renovations. He told police burglars had entered through an unlocked garage and walked off with sports memorabilia worth more than $100,000.
The Cornhuskers coach originally said the 14 rings from his playing and coaching career had been stolen, along with five pairs of Air Jordan shoes, football helmets and a video game console.
Frost also reported finding the game console and one helmet. The shoes, five football helmets and photos remained missing when the police report was amended with the discovery of some possessions.
