Oklahoma City Thunder forward Patrick Patterson underwent surgery on his left knee Thursday and is expected to miss at least 4-6 weeks, the team announced.
Patterson signed a three-year, $16.4 million deal as a free agent after spending the past four-plus seasons with the Toronto Raptors.
The Thunder called Thursday’s surgery a “proactive procedure” that was performed by Dr. Neal S. ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Patterson is expected to be ready for the start of the team’s preseason camp, but will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks to gauge his recovery.
Patterson averaged 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 three-pointers across 24.6 minutes for the Raptors last season.
