Bennett Stirtz hit four 3-pointers and led all scorers with 25 points to lead Iowa to a blowout 83-64 Big Ten conference win over visiting Maryland on Saturday in Iowa City.

Cam Manyawu filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Tate Sage also had 12 points and Cooper Koch chipped in 11 points for the Hawkeyes (8-1).

Pharrel Payne led the way for the Terrapins (6-4) with his third double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds. David Coit added 13 points off the bench.

After taking a 44-30 lead into halftime, the Hawkeyes continued their dominance, opening the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 56-32 lead with 15:30 left in the contest. Manyawu scored seven points during the run, including a breakaway dunk following a turnover from Myles Ryce. Manyawu scored 11 of his 12 points in the second half.

The Terrapins missed six of their first seven field-goal attempts in the second half and shot 36.2 percent from the floor on Saturday. Maryland also missed 14 of their 38 free throw attempts.

Iowa led by as many as 26 points, a 67-41 lead in the second half.

In the first half, the Hawkeyes used a 17-2 run to jump out to a 28-11 lead. The run began with Tavion Banks hitting a pair of layups. Then, Koch and Stirtz eached buried a 3-pointer. A goaltending call on a Sage layup attempt gave Iowa a 23-9 lead.

The 12-0 run was snapped on a Coit layup with 12:14 left in the half. Iowa then tacked on the next five points on another Stirtz 3-pointer and a Sage fastbreak layup.

Iowa started the game 6-for-6 from 3-point range and 8-for-13 overall in the first half.

After falling behind 33-15, the largest deficit of the game, Maryland was able to cut the deficit to 33-22 with a 7-0 run of their own. The Terrapins, however, struggled to take care of the ball, finishing with 18 turnovers, including four in the last 4:18 minutes of the first half.
