Baylor maintained its No. 1 ranking in the AP Top 25 poll for a second straight week after extending its winning streak to 16 games.
The Bears (17-1) defeated Oklahoma and Florida last week and received 44 of 64 first-place votes and 1,578 points in the rankings released Monday.
Gonzaga (21-1) earned 19 first-place votes and remained right on Baylor’s heels with 1,552 points. During an unusually stable week for a season that has already matched a record with seven No. 1 teams, the entire top 10 was unchanged with the exception of No. 8 Villanova (16-3) and No. 9 Duke (16-3) switching places.
Kansas (16-3), San Diego State (21-0) and Florida State (17-2) round out the top five.
Louisville (17-3) remains at No. 6, followed by Dayton (18-2), the Wildcats, the Blue Devils and No. 10 Seton Hall (15-4).
San Diego State is the only remaining unbeaten team in Division I.
No. 14 Michigan State (15-5) and No. 16 Butler (16-4) each fell three spots.
No. 21 Houston (16-4) moved up four spots, this week’s biggest climb.
No. 22 LSU (15-4), No. 23 Wichita State (17-3) and No. 24 Penn State (14-5) joined the poll this week, with Texas Tech, Memphis and Arizona falling out.
