Playoffs? Dolphins’ Over/Under win total at 4.5

The Miami Dolphins were saddled with the longest Super Bowl odds by most sportsbooks before they even began their offseason program.

As the preseason gets into full swing, the Dolphins remain one of the few NFL teams considered to have little or no hope of reaching the playoffs.

Miami is being offered at 150/1 to win the Super Bowl by PointsBet and FanDuel, which is pretty representative of most books.

So what to do if you’re a Fins fan interested in betting on your team this season? They’re not even on the board for PointsBet’s prop odds “To Not Win the Championship,” and they’re 100/1 to win the AFC title.

PointsBet is also offering the Dolphins at +900 to make the playoffs, versus a league-low -2500 to miss the postseason. Even the most bullish Miami supporter isn’t likely to jump at the team’s +600 moneyline to win the AFC East over the New England Patriots (-556), New York Jets (+550) and Buffalo Bills (+1000).

For a more straightforward bet on Miami’s prospects for the 2019 season, PointsBet is offering the Dolphins’ Over (-125)/Under (+110) win total at a measly 4.5 games.

Or you can go with FanDuel’s 150/1 odds on quarterback Josh Rosen taking home NFL MVP honors. Considering he may not even be the team’s Week 1 starter, it’s understandable that he shares the same odds as teammate Ryan Fitzpatrick and Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice, who has yet to take a regular-season snap while recovering from a torn ACL.
