The Toronto Defiant’s 2023 Overwatch League roster looks a lot like the former North America Contenders team American Tornado.
The new-look lineup announced Tuesday features Isaiah “Hydron” Rodriguez, Samuel “s9mm” Santos, Nicholas “Speedily” Zou, Colin “Coluge” Arai, Christian “Ojee” Han, Majed “SirMajed” Alrashied and Benjamin “UltraViolet” David.
Hydron, s9mm, Speedily, Ojee, Coluge and UltraViolet all played with American Tornado, which dominated NA Contenders action in 2020 and 2021 before disbanding.
Coluge, formerly of the San Francisco Shock, is the only tank on the roster.
SirMajed is the only non-American and the only newcomer with no previous affiliation to American Tornado. The Saudi Arabian support player was previously with the Florida Mayhem.
