Florida has paused basketball activities because of COVID-19 as is unlikely to play its scheduled games this week, Stadium reported Sunday.
The Gators are scheduled to play Massachusetts-Lowell on Wednesday and No. 4 Virginia on Friday at “College Basketball Bubbleville” at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
COVID-19 is affecting more than just the Gators.
Washington canceled its Husky Classis four-team tournament because of COVID-19 shutdowns. The event was to have included the Huskies, Portland State, Cal State Fullerton and San Diego, but the latter two schools have shut down their programs for now.
In all, more than 30 college basketball programs currently are halted because of the virus.
