NOTES: Tway beat Ryan Moore and Brandt Snedeker in a playoff last year for his maiden PGA Tour victory, and along with Bob Tway became the eighth father-son due to win on the Tour since 1900. … Phil Mickelson will make his season debut and is paired with Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry in Wednesday’s pro-am. … Former Dallas Cowboys QB and current CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo is playing on a sponsors exemption. The 5,000-1 longshot has missed the cut in all three of his previous Tour starts. … Other marquee names making their season debuts include Justin Thomas, Francesco Molinari and Adam Scott. … Fred Couples is playing his first non-major on the Tour since the Genesis Open in February. … Akshay Bhatia, 17, will make his second Tour start after missing the cut last week.

BEST BETS: Thomas (No. 6 in the OWGR) is the top-ranked player in the field and finished last season with a win and a T9 at the Tour Championship. He also brings the lowest odds at +650 by PointsBet. … No. 7 Patrick Cantlay (+1000) also finished with a strong run during the FedEx Cup Playoffs, while Molinari (+2800) tied for 14th at last week’s BMW PGA Championship. … Sungjae Im (+2000) was denied his first Tour win in dramatic fashion last week, but he continues to knock on the door and is in strong form as he has climbed to No. 46 with four consecutive top-20s. … Few players have been more consistent than Hideki Matsuyama (+1400), who has six T10s against only two missed cuts in 2019. … Brendan Steele (+8000) brings longshot odds as he has plummeted to No. 281 but has a strong history at the event that includes a pair of wins.
