Harden drops 38, Rockets pull even with Warriors

James Harden scored 38 points and the Houston Rockets took Game 4 to even the Western Conference semifinals at two games apiece with a 112-108 win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.
“Now it’s two out of three and we have to steal one on the road,” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said.
Coming out of a timeout down three, the Warriors had a chance to erase a 17-point deficit with 11.1 seconds left, but Kevin Durant missed an open 3 from the top of the key and Steph Curry’s try from the left wing hit off the front of the rim.
“I thought we played plenty hard enough,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Force has to be accompanied by poise. I think we got in a rush. We got in a rush to push the pace. … We have to be more poised. That has to be our focus.”
Chris Paul made one of two free throws to ice the game at the other end. Eric Gordon backed Harden with 20 points but was just 6 of 17 from the field.
Durant had a team-high 34 points, his seventh 30-point game of this postseason, to lead the Warriors.
Curry added 30 points on 12-of-25 shooting; he was 4 of 14 from 3-point range. Curry and Durant both played 43 minutes and Draymond Green played 41 minutes for Golden State, which hosts Game 5 on Wednesday in Oakland.
Houston made 17 30-point field goals and the Warriors shot 8 of 33 from long distance.
The Rockets have won 12 straight home games and lost just one game at the Toyota Center since Feb. 9.
