International team favored to win LLWS

The prominent sportsbooks regulated in the Unites States aren’t touching team-based odds for the 2019 Little League World Series, which begins Thursday in Williamsport, Pa.

However, Bovada is listing a -170 moneyline (a winning $100 wager returns $170) on one of the eight international teams winning the tournament, compared to +130 for a team from the U.S. to take the title.

The Honolulu team won the 2018 tournament, and international teams and U.S. teams have alternated as champions over the past four years.

Little League World Series Champions Since 2009

2018 Honolulu, Hawaii
2017 Tokyo, Japan
2016 Maine-Endwell, New York
2015 Tokyo, Japan
2014 Seoul, South Korea
2013 Tokyo, Japan
2012 Tokyo, Japan
2011 Huntington Beach, CA
2010 Tokyo, Japan
2009 Chula Vista, CA

International teams have won six of the past 10 years, and the Chung Nam team from South Korea is generally considered one of the pre-tournament favorites along with Chofu, Japan. Hawaii has another strong team from Central East Maui, as does Eastbank, La.
