Marc Leishman shot a second-round 66 to remain atop the leaderboard at LIV Golf Tucson on Saturday in Marana, Ariz.
Leishman followed up his Friday 65 with an eagle and four birdies against one bogey to head into Sunday at 11-under-par 131.
Sergio Garcia is two shots back in solo second after his 65. Four players are three shots off the lead in a tie for third and another three players are within striking distance at 7 under.
Leishman opened with an eagle on the par-5 first hole. He would card three more birdies on the front before a final birdie on the 17th.
“I had a really hot start, then cooled on the back nine,” Leishman said. “But I didn’t let it get away from me.”
Garcia jumped six spots up the leaderboard into second on the strength of a 6-under 65.
Garcia helped his team, Fireballs GC, into the lead by one shot over the HyFlyers. Fireballs sit at 22 under heading into Sunday, one shot ahead of HyFlyers, who were powered by Brendan Steele’s 65 on Saturday.
“We’re right there. We need another good day tomorrow,” Garcia said.
