Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, three-time WNBA champion Sue Bird and soccer star Megan Rapinoe will co-host the first remote ESPYS on June 21.

ESPN announced Tuesday that its annual sports awards show will be broadcast virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All three athletes live in Seattle, and Rapinoe and Bird are partners. ESPN said their common location "conveniently eases some logistics" with hosting the two-hour program.

"We liked the idea of having athletes from diverse sports that represent something for every fan," ESPYS producer Jeff Smith told ESPN. "We're finding ways to make this feel really connected to the audience. They're so ready to reach out to this community."
