Vici Gaming and Evil Geniuses scored 2-0 wins in their Upper Bracket openers Tuesday to advance to a showdown in Round 2 of the $1 million Chengdu Major at the New International Convention & Exhibition Center.
VG knocked Fighting PandaS into the Lower Bracket with a 2-0 sweep before EG did the same to Invictus Gaming.

While VG and EG will now face off for a spot in Round 3, IG now face an elimination battle against Fnatic while the Fighting PandaS will play beastcoast for the right to move on.
TNC Predator and J.Storm previously advanced in the Upper Bracket and will face each other.
Team Liquid will play EHOME and Alliance will face Team Aster in the other half of the Lower Bracket.
The remaining matches are all best-of-three until the best-of-five Grand Final on Sunday.
The winner will take home $300,000 and 4,850 DPC points toward qualification for The International 2020.
Tuesday’s games will resume with the Lower Bracket, where four teams will be eliminated. The four remaining teams in the Upper Bracket will be back in action Wednesday.
