Braves’ new world? Atlanta enters NLCS Game 3 as World Series favorite

Eddie Rosario

Up 2-0 in the National League Championship Series on the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Atlanta Braves entered Tuesday as the new favorite to win the World Series.

The Dodgers and Astros were near even odds to win the World Series prior to the championship series.

But Atlanta jumped to +200 at FanDuel and BetMGM and the Boston Red Sox were next at +240. The Dodgers, who host Game 3 on Tuesday, began the day at +290.

Astros’ Pitching Woes

The Astros coughed up 12 runs and the lead in the series on Monday night at Fenway Park. Being battered by Boston in back-to-back games dropped Houston to the fourth spot in World Series-winner odds at +340.

Prior to Tuesday’s games in each best-of-seven series, these were the odds at BetMGM: Boston +250, Dodgers +300 and Houston +360.

BetMGM had the Dodgers as the +220 favorite to win the World Series last week.

Los Angeles was -1.5 (+140) in Game 3 but BetMGM had more money coming in on the underdog Braves covering at +1.5.

Among intriguing game props, the Braves scoring 5-plus runs was +220 and Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts having 5-plus total bases was +425 at BetMGM.
