The Los Angeles Angels placed left-hander Matt Moore on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with elbow soreness and purchased the contract of right-hander Ryan Miller from Triple-A Salt Lake.
To make room for Miller on the 40-man roster, outfielder Mike Trout (knee) was moved from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL.
Moore, 35, was removed from his outing against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday due to elbow issues. He was 5-3 with a 5.03 ERA in 51 relief appearances this season and is 71-66 with a 4.39 ERA in 369 appearances (164 starts) over 13 seasons with eight different clubs.
Miller, 28, is set make his major league debut after five minor league seasons. He was 5-1 at Salt Lake this season with a 2.45 ERA in 34 appearances (one start).
Trout, 33, already was ruled out for the remainder of the season. The three-time MVP went down with a knee injury one month into the season and came away with a second knee injury while he was on rehab for the first one.
