Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a go-ahead two-run double with one out in the eighth inning and the New York Yankees earned a 4-2 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.

The Yankees had second and third after Giancarlo Stanton doubled to left field off Bryan Baker (2-3). Chisholm got ahead in the count 3-0 and when he got his first fastball of the at-bat, the third baseman roped the ball to the gap in right-center field.

The ball one-hopped in front of the 385-foot sign in front of the Yankee bullpen and Ben Rice easily scored. Pinch runner Paul Goldschmidt scored to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead when his slide beat the tag from Gary Sanchez.

Chisholm had his seventh multi-hit game since returning from an oblique injury June 3 and scored New York’s other two runs.

He scored on an RBI single by DJ LeMahieu in the second on a play that knocked out Baltimore catcher Maverick Handley.

Then, after delivering the go-ahead RBI in the eighth, Chisholm provided an insurance run when he made it home on a fielder’s choice. After advancing to third on the throw at the plate, he scored on a grounder by LeMahieu when replacement catcher Gary Sanchez dropped the throw from shortstop Gunnar Henderson.

Ryan O’Hearn hit an RBI single and Colton Cowser hit an RBI double in the first inning, but the Orioles dropped their second straight after winning 14 of 20.

New York rookie starter Will Warren allowed both runs in the first inning and six hits in 6 1/3 innings. Tim Hill got the final two outs of the seventh before walking the first two hitters of the eighth.

Fernando Cruz (2-3) got strikeouts of Ramon Laureano, Cowser and Cedric Mullins to end the eighth. Devin Williams stranded a runner in the ninth for his 10th save.

Baltimore starter Dean Kremer allowed one run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He also notched seven strikeouts and issued one walk.
