Dominic Canzone singled home the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Chicago White Sox 4-3 Thursday afternoon to complete a sweep of the three-game series.

Randy Arozarena hit a two-run homer for the Mariners, who improved to 6-1 on their 10-game homestand and pulled within 1 1/2 games of division-leading Houston in the American League West.

Michael A. Taylor and Brooks Baldwin hit solo shots for the White Sox, who lost their fourth in a row.

With Eugenio Suarez at second base to start the bottom of the 11th, Brandon Eisert (2-3) struck out Jorge Polanco before walking Mitch Garver intentionally to bring up a left-hander vs. lefty matchup. Canzone grounded a single to right and Suarez beat the throw home.

Mariners reliever Jackson Kowar (2-0) retired the side in order in the top of the inning to earn the victory.

Both teams scored in the 10th.

The White Sox took the lead in the top of the frame as Lenyn Sosa scored on a wild pitch by Eduard Bazardo with two outs and the bases loaded.

The Mariners tied it in the bottom of the inning as third baseman Josh Rojas’ throw sailed over first baseman Curtis Mead on Miles Mastrobuoni’s sacrifice bunt, scoring Arozarena from second base.

The Mariners opened the scoring in the bottom of the third as J.P. Crawford led off with a single to center and Arozarena followed by hitting a liner just over the left field wall for his career-high-tying 23rd homer of the season.

Taylor hit a solo shot to left with one out in the fifth to pull Chicago within 2-1.

Baldwin led off the seventh with a homer to right-center field off Mariners reliever Carlos Vargas to tie the score 2-2.

Mariners starter Logan Gilbert went five innings and allowed one run on two hits — a double by Luis Robert Jr. with one out in the fourth and Taylor’s homer an inning later. The right-hander walked three and struck out six.

White Sox starter Shane Smith, a rookie right-hander, also went five innings and gave up two runs on four hits. He walked one and fanned eight.

Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor, acquired from Arizona before the trade deadline, left before the start of the fourth inning with an undisclosed injury. Naylor appeared to be in discomfort on swings while at bat in the previous inning.
