The Baltimore Orioles placed right-hander Zach Eflin on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a low-grade right lat strain.
The move is retroactive to Tuesday, one day after Eflin exited his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks after six innings with what was described as shoulder fatigue.
Eflin, who turned 31 on Tuesday, is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three starts this season. He is 64-63 with a 4.15 ERA in 189 career appearances (177 starts) with the Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Rays and Orioles.
The Orioles recalled right-hander Colin Selby from Triple-A Norfolk, where he allowed one hit over 3 1/3 scoreless innings in three relief appearances. Selby, 27, pitched four scoreless innings for the Orioles in three appearances last season.
