Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper departed Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to a left elbow contusion.
The Phillies said Harper will undergo further evaluation.
Harper was hit on the elbow with a fastball from Toronto right-hander Bowden Francis in the first inning.
Harper stayed in the game until Edmundo Sosa pinch-hit for him in the third inning.
Harper, 31, is batting .282 with 26 homers and 76 RBIs this season.
