Mitchell exited with 5:08 left and Cleveland leading by 17 and headed to the locker room for reasons not immediately known.

Even with Mitchell (13 of 20 from the field, 5 of 8 from 3-point range) out of the contest, the Trail Blazers couldn’t mount a late charge.

The Cavaliers shot 56 percent from the field despite going just 9 of 30 (30 percent) from 3-point range.

The Trail Blazers made 37.4 percent of their attempts and were 13 of 38 (34.2 percent) from behind the arc.

Cleveland led 25-11 just eight-plus minutes into the game and was up 30-25 at the end of the opening period.

The Trail Blazers took a two-point lead early in the second quarter before the Cavaliers scored 20 of the next 27 points to go up 52-41 on Craig Porter’s layup with 4:11 left in the half.

Cleveland held a 55-47 lead at the break behind Mitchell’s 17 points. Sharpe tallied 10 points in the half for Portland.

Mitchell buried a 3-pointer to give the Cavaliers a 70-53 advantage with 6:04 left in the third quarter. The Trail Blazers made five 3-pointers in a span of 2:58 to trim the deficit to five, but Cleveland took an 83-75 lead into the final stanza.
