Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will be sidelined one to two weeks with a groin strain, ESPN reported Sunday.
He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 111-101 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.
Per ESPN, he was scheduled to undergo another evaluation in 24 hours.
James, 40, left the game with 6:44 left in the fourth quarter. In 35 minutes, he scored 22 points on 11-for-23 shooting from the floor along with 14 rebounds and nine assists.
The Lakers are entering a busy stretch, playing seven games in the next 11 days. Their next game is Monday at the Brooklyn Nets, followed by road games on Thursday at Milwaukee and Friday at Denver.
Without James, the offensive burden will fall on Luka Doncic, who is averaging 24.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.6 assists in 11 games since the Lakers acquired him in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks last month.
