Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will be re-evaluated in three weeks as he deals with a strained lower back, the team announced Friday.
Per the Suns, the timeline was determined following further evaluation and consultation on Beal’s injury.
Beal, 30, scored 13 points in his season debut with Phoenix on Nov. 8, helping the club to a 116-115 overtime win against the Chicago Bulls. He followed that up by playing in his team’s next two games, including a 15-point effort in the Suns’ 111-99 setback to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
Beal, however, was a late scratch from Wednesday’s 133-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a sore back.
An offseason acquisition from the Washington Wizards, Beal is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in three games this month.
Beal missed 32 games last season because of a number of injuries. He was shut down after playing only 40 games in the 2021-22 season following wrist surgery.
A three-time All-Star, Beal has averaged 22.1 points and shot 37.2 percent on 3-pointers in 698 career games (664 starts) with the Wizards and Suns.
