Trayce Jackson-Davis totaled 25 points, seven rebounds and five blocks to lead No. 21 Indiana to a 79-74 upset win over top-ranked Purdue on Saturday at Bloomington, Ind.

The Hoosiers (16-7, 7-5 Big Ten) won for the sixth time in their past seven games and beat a No. 1-ranked Purdue team for the first time in the history of their longstanding state rivalry. It was also Indiana’s first win against a top-ranked team since 2013. Purdue (22-2, 11-2) had its nine-game winning streak snapped and lost to Indiana for the second time in the past three games between the teams.

Indiana, which bounced back after an ugly loss at Maryland earlier this week, led by as many as 16 points in the first half before Purdue battled back in the second half behind dominant center Zach Edey. Edey finished with a game-high 33 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks.

Purdue’s Braden Smith made a layup with 2:02 left to cut Indiana’s lead to 71-70. Indiana’s Race Thompson answered by hitting a pair of free throws with 1:36 left. Jalen Hood-Schifino drove to the rim and scored with 25.8 seconds remaining to extend the Hoosiers’ lead to 75-70. Hood-Schifino would put the exclamation mark on the win with a breakaway dunk with two seconds left just before Indiana’s fans stormed the court.

No. 2 Tennessee 46, No. 25 Auburn 43

A matchup of two of the Southeastern Conference’s top defensive teams delivered exactly what was expected as the Volunteers hung on for a victory over the Tigers at Knoxville, Tenn.

Zakai Ziegler hit a pair of free throws with 16.3 seconds left to provide the winning margin for the Volunteers (19-4, 8-2 SEC) before Wendell Green Jr.’s potentially game-tying 3-point try for the Tigers (17-6, 7-3) bounced off the rim at the final horn.

Josiah-Jordan James scored 15 points for Tennessee, while Auburn’s Johni Broome scored 11 and K.D. Johnson had 10. The Vols shot only 27 percent overall and a season-low 9.5 percent (2 of 21) on 3-point attempts.

No. 4 Alabama 79, LSU 69

Noah Clowney and Rylan Griffen scored 14 points apiece, and the Crimson Tide held off the Tigers in Baton Rouge, La.

Nimari Burnett and Mark Sears each added 13 points and Brandon Miller had 11 for the Crimson Tide (20-3, 10-0 SEC). Derek Fountain scored a career-high 26 points and Cam Hayes added 15 to lead the Tigers (12-11, 1-9), who lost their 10th straight.

KJ Williams’ jumper got LSU within six, but Griffen made a 3-pointer and Sears made two 3-pointers as Alabama expanded the lead to 75-63. Hayes made two free throws and Fountain added a three-point play for just the Tigers’ second field goal in nearly seven minutes, trimming the lead to seven points with 2:56 left. But LSU scored just one more point.

No. 5 Arizona 84, Oregon State 52

Azuolas Tubelis scored 19 points in 23 minutes to lead three players in double figures as the Wildcats strolled past the Beavers in Tucson, Ariz.

Arizona (21-3, 10-3 Pac-12) was able to go deep into its bench after going up by 30 points early in the second half as it won its sixth consecutive game. Oregon State (9-15, 3-10) has lost nine of its past 11 outings.

Courtney Ramey had 11 points, while Pelle Larsson added 10 points. Oregon State’s Jordan Pope scored a team-high 11 points.

Virginia Tech 74, No. 6 Virginia 68

Sean Pedulla scored 22 points as the Hokies snapped the Cavaliers’ seven-game winning streak with a victory in Blacksburg, Va.

Justyn Mutts contributed 17 points and eight assists while Hunter Cattoor scored all 10 of his points in the second half as the Hokies (14-9, 4-8 Atlantic Coast Conference) avenged a 78-68 loss in Charlottesville, Va., on Jan. 18. Jayden Gardner led Virginia (17-4, 9-3) with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Kihei Clark added 17 points and Reece Beekman contributed 15.

It was a 38-38 game five minutes into the second half. But after missing his first six shots, Cattoor drained a trio of 3-pointers in the final 11 minutes as Virginia Tech pushed its lead to as many as 10 points. Beekman scored nine of his points in the final 10 minutes as Virginia stayed within striking distance. But in the final seven minutes, Grant Basile answered with nine of his 14 points.

No. 10 Texas 69, No. 7 Kansas State 66

Sir’Jabari Rice and Christian Bishop each scored 14 points as the Longhorns preserved their lead in the Big 12 Conference by beating the host Wildcats in Manhattan, Kan.

The Longhorns have a one-game lead on Iowa State and a two-game lead on four teams, including Kansas State. Texas (19-4, 8-2 Big 12) also got 10 points apiece from Tyrese Hunter, Marcus Carr and Timmy Allen.

Kansas State (18-5, 6-4) was led by Keyontae Johnson with 16 points. He was joined in double figures by Desi Sills with 11 and Markquis Nowell with 10. Texas outscored Kansas State 14-4 to start the second half to trim an 11-point halftime deficit to just 40-39. Bishop’s traditional three-point play gave Texas a 46-45 lead — the Longhorns’ first advantage since 7-6.

No. 18 Saint Mary’s 78, No. 12 Gonzaga 70 (OT)

Aidan Mahaney scored 16 of his 18 points after halftime to help the host Gaels rally to an overtime victory over the Bulldogs in a West Coast Conference showdown at Moraga, Calif.

Mitchell Saxen added 15 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out for the first-place Gaels (21-4, 10-0 WCC), who led for just 70 total seconds in regulation and recovered from an 11-point, first-half deficit.

Drew Timme scored 23 points for Gonzaga (19-5, 8-2), which has lost five games in a season for the first time since going 32-5 in 2017-18. Malachi Smith tallied 13 points and Julian Strawther added 10.

No. 13 Iowa State 68, No. 8 Kansas 53

Jaren Holmes scored all of his team-high 15 points in the second half and Osun Osunniyi added 13 points to lift the Cyclones to a victory against the Jayhawks in Ames, Iowa.

Iowa State (16-6, 7-3 Big 12) has secured four victories against Top 10 schools this season, a program record. The Cyclones, who led by as many as 19 points, improved to 12-0 at home this season. Tre King added 10 points and Tamin Lipsey flirted with a triple-double, collecting 10 assists to go with nine points and eight rebounds.

Jalen Wilson scored a game-high 26 points for Kansas (18-5, 6-4), which was unable to secure a season sweep of Iowa State after edging the visiting Cyclones 62-60 on Jan. 24.

No. 9 UCLA 76, Washington State 52

Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 24 points and collected a career-high 15 rebounds to lead the Bruins to an easy win over the Cougars in Pac-12 play in Los Angeles.

Jaylen Clark added 12 points and Amari Bailey had 10 as the Bruins (19-4, 10-2 Pac-12) stretched the nation’s longest homecourt winning streak to 21. UCLA is 13-0 at Pauley Pavilion this season.

TJ Bamba scored 19 points and Justin Powell added 17 for Washington State (10-15, 5-9). Big man Mouhamed Gueye had just six points on 3-of-13 shooting as the Cougars lost for the fifth time in their past six games. Washington State dropped to 3-62 all-time against the Bruins in Los Angeles.

No. 11 Baylor 89, Texas Tech 62

Jalen Bridges had 18 points, Keyonte George added 17 and the Bears beat the Red Raiders in Big 12 play in Waco, Texas.

Baylor (17-6, 6-4 Big 12) led by as many as 30 points in the second half, shot 35 of 65 (53.8 percent) from the field and was an impressive 10 of 24 (41.7 percent) from 3-point range. Baylor, which has won seven of its past eight games, outrebounded Texas Tech 36-27.

The Red Raiders (12-11, 1-9), who have dropped nine of their past 11 games, were led by Jaylon Tyson, who had a career-high 19 points to go along with a game-high 10 rebounds. De’Vion Harmon had 20 points and four rebounds.

No. 14 Marquette 60, Butler 52

Tyler Kolek finished with 13 points and came through in the clutch late as the Golden Eagles held off the Bulldogs in a Big East battle in Milwaukee.

Kolek converted a layup with 1:31 remaining to give Marquette (19-5, 11-2 Big East) some breathing room before sinking two free throws just over a minute later to seal the victory.

Jayden Taylor led Butler (11-13, 3-10) with 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while Simas Lukosius supplied 15 points and seven assists. Ali Ali had seven points for the Bulldogs, who shot just 19 of 50 (38 percent) from the field to drop their fifth straight game.

Oklahoma State 79, No. 15 TCU 73

Kalib Boone scored a career-high 25 points, including a huge bucket in the final 30 seconds, as the Cowboys outlasted the Horned Frogs in a wild Big 12 Conference meeting at Stillwater, Okla.

Oklahoma State (14-9, 5-5 Big 12) led by as many as 19 points early in the second half before Texas Tech roared back, tying the game at 59-59 on three free throws by Damion Baugh with 5:41 to play. The lead changed hands for the next two minutes before Oklahoma State ran off nine straight points to go up 72-65 with 2:07 remaining.

Emanuel Miller scored 17 points to lead TCU (17-6, 6-4), while JaKobe Coles hit for 15 points, Shahada Wells added 14, Baugh had 12 and Charles O’Bannon Jr. contributed 11.

No. 16 Xavier 96, St. John’s 71

Jack Nunge poured in a game-high 21 points while Colby Jones added 19 to lead the host Musketeers to a rout of the Red Storm at Cincinnati.

Xavier (19-5, 11-2 Big East), which led by as many as 30, drained a season-high 15 3-pointers. The Musketeers are the nation’s leader with 20.8 assists per game and continued that trend Saturday with 26 assists on 32 made field goals. The win kept the Musketeers tied atop the Big East with Marquette, which also improved to 11-2 in conference play with a 60-52 home win over Butler.

AJ Storr and Dylan Addae-Wusu each had 14 points to lead St. John’s (14-10, 4-9), which continued its spiral down the conference standings. The Red Storm lost for the fourth time in five games and for the ninth time in 12 games.

No. 19 Florida Atlantic 67, Charlotte 52

Vladislav Goldin scored 15 points and the Owls relied on balanced scoring and clutch second-half 3-point shooting to pull away from the host 49ers.

Just two days after their school-record 20-game winning streak ended with a loss at Alabama-Birmingham, the Owls (22-2, 12-1 Conference USA) were back in a groove. Alijah Martin scored 13 points, and Brandon Weatherspoon had 10 for Florida Atlantic. The Owls were boosted by a 12-0 run in the second half.

Brice Williams led Charlotte (13-10, 4-8), which lost its third game in a row, with 14 points, and Isaiah Folkes had 10 points. The 49ers hit only 7 of 22 attempts (31.8 percent) from 3-point range and three of the makes from distance came in the last 1:35.

No. 23 Miami 78, No. 20 Clemson 74

Nijel Pack scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures as the Hurricanes defeated the Tigers to earn a key ACC road win.

Isaiah Wong contributed 15 points for Miami (18-5, 9-4 ACC), which won back-to-back games for the first time this calendar year. Wooga Poplar (14 points), Jordan Miller (12) and Norchad Omier (10) also came up big offensively for the Hurricanes.

Clemson (18-6, 10-3) lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. PJ Hall paced the Tigers with 19 points, while Brevin Galloway notched 15 points and Hunter Tyson chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds.

No. 24 UConn 68, Georgetown 62

Alex Karaban scored all 11 of his points in the second half to help the Huskies fend off the Hoyas in Big East action in Washington, D.C.

Adama Sanogo and Tristen Newton both supplied 15 points for the Huskies (18-6, 7-6 Big East), who clinched a regular-season sweep of the Hoyas after defeating Georgetown 84-73 in Storrs, Conn., on Dec. 20. Brandon Murray paced the Hoyas (6-18, 1-12) with 21 points but committed a team-high seven turnovers.

Trailing 65-62 with under a minute to play, the Hoyas had a chance to set up a game-tying possession when Akok Akok rejected Newton’s layup, but Andre Jackson Jr. corralled UConn’s 19th offensive rebound and found Karaban wide open on the left wing for a dagger 3-pointer that doubled UConn’s lead to six with 27 seconds to play.
