Indianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson said he plans to wear a Guardian Cap during the regular season.
Granson, 26, who spent time in concussion protocol in 2023, was one of several Colts players who wore the protective padding over their helmets during the preseason.
“At one point people thought seatbelts were (expletive) stupid,” Granson told The Athletic on Thursday, adding that he wants to protect his long-term brain health.
Granson caught 30 passes for 368 yards and one touchdown in 15 games (seven starts) last season. The 2021 fourth-round pick has 72 receptions for 776 yards and one TD in 45 games (11 starts) with the Colts.
