Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police outside Hard Rock Stadium but was released and is expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Sunday.
Hill reportedly was pulled over for speeding when a verbal spat with police officers ensued. In video posted to X by ESPN, Hill can be seen lying face-down on the ground while the police pull his arms behind him to place him in handcuffs.
Hill was not arrested but was cited for reckless driving, ESPN reported. The network also reported that Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was in the vehicle with him.
“Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support,” the Dolphins wrote on X. “Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
