Anze Kopitar, Adrian Kempe, Warren Foegele and Brandt Clarke each had a goal and an assist for the visiting Los Angeles Kings, who hung on for a 6-5 win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.
Kevin Fiala, Phillip Danault and Joel Edmundson each had two assists for the Kings, who have won two straight after a five-game skid. David Rittich made 27 saves.
Tomas Hertl scored a hat trick, and Adin Hill made 29 saves for the Golden Knights, whose four-game winning streak ended.
Kopitar gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead at 11:22. Edmundson fired a shot from the middle of the blue line that Kopitar, stationed in front, tipped past Hill.
Clarke made it 2-0 at 18:29. He collected a rebound and took it to the net before slipping a backhand past Hill’s right skate.
Quinton Byfield pushed it to 3-0 at 1:56 of the second period when Fiala’s shot deflected off his skate and beat Hill blocker side.
Nicolas Roy cut the deficit to 3-1 when his backhand from the right hashmarks trickled through Rittich at 5:00.
Hertl narrowed it to 3-2 at 9:47, spinning out from behind the net to the right circle and firing a wrist shot blocker side.
Foegele took the puck up the right side before cutting to the net and putting it into the top corner to make it 4-2 Kings at 18:51 of the second period.
Trevor Moore extended Los Angeles’ advantage to 5-2 at 4:02 of the third period, snapping a shot from the right circle glove side on Hill.
Hertl pulled Vegas within two on the power play, untouched in front to convert a Mark Stone feed at 8:28.
Kempe’s snap shot on the power play beat Hill under his right pad to push it to 6-3 at 10:57.
Brandon Saad narrowed the deficit to 6-4 at 11:33. Clarke couldn’t corral a dump-in by the Golden Knights, and Saad quickly fired it past Rittich from the slot.
With Hill pulled for the extra attacker, Hertl completed the hat trick to make it 6-5 from in front at 17:48.
