The Detroit Lions are bringing back starting linebacker Alex Anzalone on a new three-year contract.
The Lions announced the deal Wednesday without disclosing financial terms.
Anzalone, 28, led the Lions with 125 tackles — seven for loss — in 2022, starting all 17 games for the club. He also recorded seven quarterback hits, six passes defensed, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Anzalone has 326 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 69 career games (51 starts) for the New Orleans Saints (2017-20) and Lions. He was a third-round pick of the Saints in the 2017 draft.
