An MRI confirmed Monday that Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs suffered an MCL sprain and will miss a couple of weeks, NFL Network reported Monday.
The Bucs initially feared the knee injury to be worse, per the report.
Wirfs, 25, was injured in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
He was replaced by Justin Skule, who is in line to get the nod at LT while Wirfs is out. The Bucs have a bye this week.
Wirfs has started all 73 games he’s played in since being selected No. 13 overall by the Bucs in the 2020 draft.
The three-time Pro Bowler signed a five-year deal worth $140 million in August, making him the NFL’s highest-paid offensive lineman.
