The Seattle Storm will retire four-time WNBA champion Sue Bird’s No. 10 jersey on June 11.
Bird, who hung up her jersey after her 19th season in 2022, will be honored during a game against the visiting Washington Mystics at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena.
The Storm made the announcement Thursday.
Bird, 42, was a 13-time WNBA All-Star and a member of the league’s 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th anniversary teams.
She won four WNBA titles with the Storm (2004, 2010, 2018 and 2020) and five Olympic gold medals with the U.S. women’s team (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020).
Bird entered the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick in 2002 and retired ranked No. 1 in league history in games (580) and assists (3,234). She is third on the all-time list in steals (725) and seventh in points (6,803).
