The Houston Texans designated Nico Collins to return from injured reserve on Friday, opening the wide receiver’s 21-day practice window.
Collins was placed on IR on Oct. 9, three days after he hurt his hamstring making a 67-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter of the Texans’ 23-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Collins, 25, was the NFL’s leading receiver at the time of the injury. He recorded 32 catches for 567 yards and three touchdowns in five games.
Collins appears unlikely to play for the Texans (6-3) in Sunday night’s game against the visiting Detroit Lions (7-1). Houston’s next game is Nov. 18 against the host Dallas Cowboys.
Also on Friday, Houston placed guard Kenyon Green on injured reserve with a dislocated left shoulder.
Green, 23, had started all nine games this season and 23 of 24 in which he has played since being selected by the Texans with the 15th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.
