PG Lin to play in China this season

Jeremy Lin will play in the Chinese Basketball Association next season after signing with the Beijing Shougang Ducks.

The 31-year-old Lin spent nine seasons in the NBA, most prominently with the New York Knicks in 2012 during the “Linsanity” streak of high-scoring games propelled the former Golden State Warriors castoff to brief star status.

Lin was crestfallen in an interview with a Taiwan-based TV station in July when he said the realization that his NBA days might be over was not settling.

“In English there’s a saying and it says once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up,” Lin said on Christian television station GOOD TV. “But rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me. So, free agency has been tough. Because I feel like in some ways the NBA’s kind of given up on me.”

Lin posted a message via Twitter saying, “Beijing, here I come.”

Lin averaged 9.6 points per game with the Toronto Raptors last season and played in 480 career games, averaging 11.6 points. 4.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.
