U.S. Women’s Open Betting Odds: Sei Young Kim favored

Sei Young Kim is favored to keep her career-best year rolling at this week’s U.S. Women’s Open.

The South Korean claimed her first major title at the Women’s PGA Championship in October and has risen to No. 2 in the Rolex Rankings. Kim and Danielle Kang are the only multiple-time winners on the LPGA’s truncated 2020 schedule.

The U.S. Women’s Open is the final major of the year, and Kim is the +900 favorite by sportsbooks including BetMGM and PointsBet. She is also +190 to finish in the top five and -110 to finish in the top 10 by BetMGM.

Can Inbee Park claim major No. 8?

Seven-time major champion Inbee Park is the second betting favorite as she is being offered at +1200 by BetMGM and +1100 by PointsBet.

Kang and Brooke Henderson are listed as +1400 by BetMGM, while PointsBet is offering Kang at +1200 and Henderson at +1600.

They all have shorter odds than top-ranked Jin Young Ko, who is listed at +1800 by both books. Ko returned to competition last month after nearly a year away from the LPGA Tour due to travel restrictions and quarantining in South Korea.

Ko tied for 34th in her return at the Pelican Women’s Championship, won by Kim, before finishing solo fifth at last week’s Volunteers of America Classic.

Defending champion Jeongeun Lee6 also returned to the Tour for the past two events, posting a T42 and a T16 leading into the U.S. Women’s Open, where she is being offered at +4000 by both sportsbooks.

Nelly Korda returns from injury layoff

No. 3 Nelly Korda is the top-ranked American. The 22-year-old has three career LPGA wins and posted her best finish in a major with her T2 at the ANA Inspiration earlier this year, where she lost in a playoff to Mirim Lee.

Korda has not played since withdrawing from the Women’s PGA Championship with a back injury. She is still one of the pre-tournament favorites at +2000 by both sportsbooks.

Lexi Thompson, seeking her first win of 2020 and her first major title since the ANA in 2014, is being offered at +2800 by BetMGM and +3000 by PointsBet.
