Derrick Dillon returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown and the Memphis Showboats blanked the visiting Pittsburgh Maulers 22-0 on Saturday in USFL action.
Cole Kelley passed for 135 yards and threw a touchdown to Vinny Papale as the Showboats (3-3) won their third straight game. Alex Kessman kicked field goals of 27, 46 and 48 yards.
The Maulers (2-4) outgained the Showboats 283-223 but also turned the ball over three times, including a pair of interceptions by James Morgan. Isiah Hennie caught eight passes for 103 yards for Pittsburgh.
Dillon’s return following Chris Blewitt’s missed field goal attempt gave Memphis a 19-0 lead just before halftime.
Stallions 27, Panthers 13
Alex McGough threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and CJ Marable rushed for 100 yards to lead Birmingham past Michigan in Detroit.
The Stallions (4-2) scored twice in the fourth quarter to put the game away. McGough rushed for 82 yards on 11 carries.
Josh Love threw for 222 yards and a TD and Trey Quinn caught seven passes for 108 yards for the Panthers (2-4).
