Warriors, Green agree to four-year contract

Draymond Green has agreed to a four-year extension with the Golden State Warriors, the forward’s agent told ESPN on Saturday.

The deal, which begins after next season, is worth $100 million, according to agent Rich Paul. He’ll receive $22.2 million in the first year of the deal, with increases each season and will take him up to $27.6 million in the final season.

Green, 29, has already won three titles with the Warriors, but the deal ensures he’ll be paired with stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for the next several years.

A second-round pick in 2012, Green has spent his entire seven-year career with Golden State and has been instrumental in their run to five straight NBA Finals.

For his career, Green has averaged 9.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game with 22 triple-doubles. He was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016-17 and has been on the All-Defensive first or second team in each of the last five seasons.
