BEST BETS: As usual, Kyle Busch is the heavy favorite at 5-2, with Martin Truex Jr. coming in at 4-1 and Kevin Harvick at 6-1. Brad Keselowski at 9-1 and Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano at 10-1 are also setting up as among the favorites. There’s a real solid group from 20-1 to 35-1, including Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney at 20-1, Aric Almirola at 25-1, Erik Jones and Kyle Larson at 30-1 and Jimmie Johnson and Alex Bowman at 35-1. Daniel Suarez at 50-1 is also a good long shot.

THIS WEEK: The trucks are taking the week off after 13 of 23 races on the season. … Rookie Tyler Ankrum, 18, won last week at Kentucky, his first career victory, leading 40 of the 150 laps. Ankrum missed the first three races of the season because he needed to be 18 to compete. … Grant Enfinger leads the Truck standings (542 points), followed by Stewart Friesen (508), *Brett Moffitt (501), Matt Crafton (492), Harrison Burton (448), Ben Rhodes (444), *Austin Hill (412), Todd Gilliland (392), Sheldon Creed (387) and *Johnny Sauter (373) rounding out the top 10. *Ankrum is currently 12th and in the playoffs.

THIS WEEK: The series is right back at it after Simon Pagenaud won last week at Toronto, with the fast and fun Iowa Speedway on tap this week for the 12th of 17 races on the season. … James Hinchcliffe won this race last year, but Josef Newgarden dominated most of it, leading 229 of the 300 laps. … The standings are getting tight at the top, with American Newgarden in the lead (434 points), followed by American Alexander Rossi (430), France’s Pagenaud (395), New Zealand’s Scott Dixon (348) and Australia’s Will Power (306) rounding out the top five.
