Top Yankees prospect Florial suffers broken wrist

Top New York Yankees prospect Estevan Florial broke his right wrist chasing down a fly ball during Saturday’s spring training game against the Toronto Blue Jays in Tampa, Fla.
The 21-year-old center fielder ran into the outfield wall in the eighth inning, and X-rays revealed a non-displaced fracture. He will undergo further tests on Monday.
This is the second time in two years Florial has injured his right wrist. He missed nearly three months last season with a broken hamate bone that required surgery.
Florial has yet to play higher than the Class A level, but was expected to start this season in Double-A.
Florial walked, singled, stole a base and scored two runs in Saturday’s 17-7 win against Toronto. He is batting .355 this spring with one home run, four RBIs and five steals in 13 games.
He played in 75 games for Tampa in the Florida State League in 2018, batting .255 with three homers, 27 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.
