Tencent will hold a World Cup for its mobile game Arena of Valor in Los Angeles in July with a prize pool of at least $500,000, a company source told The Esports Observer.

The tournament is expected to be officially announced next week.

The tournament is part of a global esports rollout for the game that will include local and collegiate-level competitions, according to the Observer. Arena of Valor launched in the United States in December, and the Chinese version named Honor of Kings has more than 200 million registered users, making it the most-played mobile game in the world, per the report.

SK Gaming, Team Liquid, Vitality and Alliance are among the prominent teams expected to compete in the World Cup. SK Gaming and Team Liquid took part in the AoV Asia International Championship in November that also had a $500,000 prize pool.
