After breaking onto the gaming scene in 2017, Fortnite: Battle Royale has since become one of the most popular titles around the world with millions of players trying their luck at obtaining a "Victory Royale."

Celebrities, athletes and various high-profile personalities alike have expressed their love for the game, with Fortnite becoming a "pop culture" icon at the turn of 2018.

Epic Games, the developer of the title, has maintained a constant line of communication with fans and community members over the course of recent months via updates on Twitter, Reddit, and their Community Blog to keep players up-to-date on the latest changes and issues.

On April 12, various users from different platforms reported trouble signing-in to Fortnite, which prompted a response by Epic Games that services should begin to recover over the next "couple of hours."

As of this writing, it is unknown what caused the extended downtime, with the developer stating that "more updates" will come in due time.
