Overview

Wydermyer is a two-time Mackey Award finalist who declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Dec. 20.

The Dickinson, Texas native started 33 of 35 games for Texas A&M, catching 118 passes for 1,468 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was an All-SEC second team selection each season.

2021 (JUNIOR)

  • Has started in all 12 games
  • Racked up 36 yards on four receptions in the season-opening win over Kent State
  • Tallied 66 yards off four receptions at Colorado
  • Became the fourth Aggie tight end in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards against the Buffaloes
  • Caught an 18-yard pass against Arkansas
  • Hauled in an 11-yard TD pass against Mississippi State
  • Tallied 73 yards off three receptions and a touchdown in the win over No. 1 Alabama
  • Added three catches for 29 yards at Missouri
  • Led the Aggies with four receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns against South Carolina
  • Recorded a team-high five receptions for 53 yards in the win over No. 12 Auburn
  • Registered 68 yards off five receptions at Ole Miss
  • Named to the Walter Camp Preseason All-America Second Team, as well as the Athlon Sports Preseason All-America Second Team
  • Given the Offensive Skill Award at the annual team banquet.

2020 (SOPHOMORE)

  • Started in all 10 games
  • Named a John Mackey Award finalist
  • Awarded All-SEC Second Team honors
  • Caught eight passes for 82 yards at Alabama
  • Caught five passes for 53 yards in the win over Florida
  • Hauled in a pair of touchdowns off six receptions for 92 yards in the win over Arkansas
  • Earned Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week Honorable Mention honors for his performance against the Razorbacks
  • Recorded his third multi-touchdown game of his career off three receptions for 35 yards as the Aggies dominated the Gamecocks 48-3
  • Led the Aggies with four catches for 31 yards in the win over LSU
  • Broke the Aggie all-time touchdown record in a career by a tight end after his two touchdown performance to help A&M beat Auburn
  • His 12 career TDs broke a tie with Jace Sternberger and Martellus Bennett (10 each)
  • Earned Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week Honorable Mention honors for his performance against the Tigers
  • Recorded five receptions for 71 yards in the win at Tennessee
  • Prior to the season, was named to the Mackey Award Watch List, as well as the Preseason All-SEC Second Team by the league’s coaches and media.

2019 (FRESHMAN)

  • Played in all 13 games, making 11 starts
  • Led the team with six receiving touchdowns, ranked third with 32 catches for 447 yards in his debut season
  • Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, voted on by the league’s head coaches, as well as the AP All-SEC Second Team
  • Caught a 9-yard pass in the season-opening win over Texas State
  • Made the start at No. 1 Clemson, scoring A&M’s only touchdown of the game, a 2-yard pass in the fourth quarter
  • Caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Zach Calzada in the win over Lamar
  • Caught three passes for 20 yards against Auburn
  • Recorded his first multi-touchdown game, grabbing 25- and 18-yard scoring passes against Alabama
  • Caught four passes for 67 yards in the win at Ole Miss
  • Brought in a pair of passes for 63 yards, scoring on a 52-yard pass against Mississippi State
  • Caught four passes for 52 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown grab against UTSA
  • Led the way with five catches for 79 yards against South Carolina
  • Caught four passes for 40 yards at Georgia
  • Earned the Offensive Top Newcomer Award at the annual team banquet.

HIGH SCHOOL

  • Coached by John Snelson at Dickinson High School
  • Was named the Houston area UIL Offensive Player of the Year finalist by the Houston Touchdown Club
  • Made 42 catches for 875 yards with 10 touchdowns in 2018. Finished high school career with 87 receptions for 1,623 yards and 20 touchdowns.
