The field is reserved for the 34 winners on the PGA Tour in 2018, including the eight fall events to begin the 2018-19 season. Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods qualified but did not commit to the event. … Johnson won by eight shots over Jon Rahm last year for his second victory in eight starts at the event. … Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy will make his first career start in the TOC. … Eleven of the 12 previous winners have gone on to qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship, with the lone exception being Daniel Chopra in 2008. … Brooks Koepka begins 2018 as the No. 1-ranked player in the world, ahead of Rose and Johnson. He finished last in the event in 2018 before taking a three-month break to recover from a wrist injury. … Johnson has posted 15 rounds in the 60s in the event since 2013, four more than Jordan Spieth. He also leads active Tour members with 11 consecutive seasons with at least one victory.
